She produced and directed a handful of "couples porn" movies in the first half of the 80s and... and then 30 years off my radar.
I'm looking for an article about her that I ran across in another forum. All I have is the thumbnail.
Here's what I know about her so far.

Family porn, a bit out of the ordinary

Filmmaker Marga Aulbach, an extremely obscure pornographer, delivers an okay saga with THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER ASK.
Torn Between Two Lovers

Though "Henri Pachard" (a/k/a Ron Sullivan) is this movie's credited director, it soon becomes clear that co-writer/producer Marga Aulbach (previously "Michelle Ames") was looking over his shoulder the whole time. Now while I don't think that "couples films" are a bad idea per se (indeed, Aulbach produced one of the very best in Sam Weston's THE DANCERS), I do object to flicks that soft-pedal their sexual content in a pathetic and ultimately pointless crossover bid.
With so much going for it, this movie should rightfully have been a classic of its kind. Ultimately though, it's done in by its lukewarm sex scenes, often marked by the lack of foreplay evident in Aulbach's solo directorial efforts HOW DO YOU LIKE IT ? and THOUGHT YOU'D NEVER ASK.

This minor Sam Weston (a/k/a "Anthony Spinelli") offering still compares favorably to even the most accomplished efforts of many a lesser talent. Hot on the heels of his masterpiece THE DANCERS, also produced by Marga Aulbach in her "Michele Ames" guise, it was considered something of a disappointment at the time though its superstar cast makes it mandatory viewing for anyone truly devoted to dirty movie history.

Sexes: Romantic Porn in the Boudoir
The VCR revolution produces X-rated films for women (and men)
By John Leo;Scott Brown/Los Angeles, with other bureaus
Monday, Mar. 30, 1987
At a screening of a porn film, a female critic spotted something in the movie that offended her sensibilities. "Good grief!" she exclaimed, rising from her seat as bodies heaved onscreen. "Just look at those dirty sheets!"

Porn-shop owners have kept a close eye on the coalition of religious and women's groups coalescing around the issue of exploitation of children and women.

Romance is only one aspect of the new porn. Former Film Producer Marga Aulbach of San Francisco says her movies "stressed equality and the idea that sex was for both women and men, not just men having sex with women." She says she received a lot of letters saying things like "It wasn't offensive or sleazy" or "I didn't feel the least uncomfortable when I was watching it."

[Times Daily - Apr 28, 1983]
It's only a matter of time before hard core pornography will be piped into American homes, according to adult film producer Marga Aulbach.
"Where there's a will there's a way," said the blonde, German-born filmmaker.
"The sexual act has been around a long time, otherwise none of us would be here. Eventually, explicit sex act pictures will be seen on cable.
"It's obvious the American public wants to see explicit sex from the volume of X-rated videocassettes sold and the increasing number of couples attending adult films in theaters."
Marga, who produced such hard core films as "The Dancers," "Wild Dallas Honey" and "Between The Sheets," agrees children should be protected from her films.
"Parents lock up their cassettes," she said. "And there should be lock boxes involved in X-rated cable."
She credits the women's liberation movement for the acceleration of acceptance of pornographic movies in the United States.
Until the feminist movement burst on the American consciousness, porno films were limited to sleezy grind theaters where crude sex films were exhibited for almost all-male audiences.
Now, according to Marga, "More than 50 percent of the audience attending established sex films in theaters are couples.
"There's been a whole sexual revolution in the past 10 years... starting when Jackie Kennedy went to see the Swedish X-rated film, 'I Am Curious Yellow.'
"Women are letting their hair down about sex. Women are into visual sex as much as men are these days. They're more open about going to places like Chippendale's to see male strippers.
"We've all come a long way since 'Deep Throat,' which was like early silent movies compared with the techniques and sophistication of adult movies today."
Marga, who spends part of every production day on the set of her films, admits she is sexually stimulated watching her actors and actresses engage in coupling and other sex games.
